News

This year, we’re operating the first SURFING Facebook Online Darkroom, free for all competitors at the 2009 NSSA Nationals. Here’s how it works:

We’ve set up a Facebook page called “SURFING At Nationals,” which will be home to all the photos from Lowers over the course of competition at Nationals. Surfers need to send a friend request to “SURFING At Nationals” on their Facebook accounts. For those who don’t yet have a Facebook account, setting one up is as simple as providing a name and email address at www.facebook.com.

Once they’ve added “SURFING At Nationals” to their friend list, NSSA surfers will have instant access to all the shots from their heats at the end of each day. The photos, taken by our most experienced lens-men on the beach at Lowers, will be uploaded to the “SURFING At Nationals” Facebook page and tagged with the name of the surfer in the photo. Groms who have added “SURFING At Nationals” to their friend list will then receive a message when their shots are online, including a link straight to their photo – no more searching through hundreds of images!

The shots are there for the surfers to keep, post, print, share and show to the world – all for free. The one MOST IMPORTANT step for them to get their photos is to send a friend request to “SURFING At Nationals” on Facebook immediately.

Repeat: Instructions to all competitors are, “Send a Facebook friend request to “SURFING At Nationals” as soon as possible to get free and easy access to all your photos from the contest.”

Thanks, and we’ll see you at the beach!
